Abstract
This qualitative study aimed to elucidate and analyze the concept of “Qalb-e Salīm” (Pure Heart) within the Holy Qur’an, with a specific focus on the narrations of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS). In this research, 150 selected narrations from authentic Shi’a hadith sources were examined using content analysis and an inductive approach to identify thematic patterns and key elements associated with Qalb-e Salīm. Data were gathered through the study of hadith sources and analyzed via coding, categorization, and thematic analysis. The findings indicate that “Qalb-e Salīm” as presented in the narrations of the Ahl al-Bayt, is a multifaceted concept. It encompasses not only pure faith and sincerity but also characteristics such as infallibility, humility, love, divine awe, avoidance of carnal desires, and submission to truth. This heart serves as the source of righteous deeds and the avoidance of moral vices, playing a pivotal role in individual and societal felicity. The results of this research, while clarifying the various dimensions of Qalb-e Salīm, offer practical strategies for attaining it, thereby contributing to a deeper understanding of Islamic teachings.
