Lifestyle refers to a set of internal and external behaviors that individuals adopt based on their dispositions and preferences, expressing them in their daily lives. Thus, lifestyle is not limited to one’s material possessions, but rather includes the manner in which those possessions are presented and utilized. In general, the routine behaviors and daily decisions - both minor and significant - shaped by a person’s temperament, desires, and tastes constitute their lifestyle. This paper first explores the definition and nature of “lifestyle,” then outlines the components and characteristics of lifestyle choices. Using a descriptive-analytical method and a library-based approach to data collection, it presents Qur’anic and hadith-based evidence to conceptualize and distinguish the Islamic lifestyle - as a theocentric model - from the Western lifestyle, which is anthropocentric in nature. The findings indicate that, according to Islamic sources, the Islamic lifestyle not only emphasizes individual principles but also places strong emphasis on family and societal well-being. Conversely, the lack of institutionalization of Islamic lifestyle norms has led to the increased prevalence of Western, human-centered models - an outcome significantly influenced by modern media. Therefore, this study aims to clarify the conceptual framework of lifestyle, construct a precise understanding of the Islamic lifestyle, and compare it with its Western counterpart.
