This research examines the typology of the interpretive narrations of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) in dealing with the Mutashabih (ambiguous) verses of the Quran. The main issue of the study is to identify the types of interpretive narrations and analyze their role in resolving ambiguities and similarities in the Quranic verses. The importance of the topic stems from the fact that Mutashabih verses, due to their conceptual ambiguities, have always been a challenge for exegetes, and the narrations of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS), as authoritative interpretive sources, play a key role in explaining these verses. The research method is qualitative and descriptive-analytical; data were purposefully collected from Shiite interpretive and hadith sources and examined using qualitative content analysis. The findings indicate that the interpretive narrations of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) are broadly classified into two categories: those pertaining to the apparent meaning of the verses and those explaining their instances. Each category employs methods such as lexical clarification, explanation of the context of revelation, elaboration of key concepts, criticism of incorrect narrations and interpretations, and Jarī wa Taṭbīq (application and adaptation), to resolve ambiguities and clarify the meanings of the verses. This research provides a theoretical framework for the typology of interpretive narrations and demonstrates that the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) utilized a systematic and purposeful methodology in interpreting Mutashabih verses.
